HobbyCAM Troubleshooting Guide

1. I can't get the video to play, I just get audio.

You may need to download a free codec so that your media player can playback the video file. Go to: Xvid Movie Codec download the codec that is appropriate for your operating system and instal it on your computer. After installation videos should playback properly.

2. The red light flashes slowly and I only get audio, no video.

If you hold the function button down too long while in the standby ready mode you will go into the audio recording function and the red light is indicating that you are recording audio. To exit the audio recording function simply press the function button quickly and the camera will go back to standby ready mode. This time quickly press the function button and it should go into video recording mode and the blue light will flash slowly to indicate that you are recording video/audio,

3. When I turn on my camera the red light flashes and I can't record anything.

The microSD memory card may not be installed in the camera. The camera will not function if there is no memory card installed. Install the memory card in the camera and it should begin to work properly.

4. How much memory can I put into my camera?

You can use up to a an 8GB microSD card. Anything above that and the camera will not be able to recognize the extra memory and will only let you use up to 8GB.

5. I can't get the time and date to set properly.

Make sure you are following the instructions provided and that you have formatted the text file correctly. You also need to follow the steps in the instruction sheet very closely when it comes to putting the text file onto the camera.

6. I have lost my instruction sheet/USB cord/power adapter.

Just contact us using the information on our Contact Page and we will be happy to assist you.

7. Will my camera work with Windows 7?

Yes, the camera should work fine with Windows 7.

8. My computer asks for a driver when I plug it in, but the box says I don't need a driver.

You don't need a driver. Your computer should see the camera as a mass storage device and treat it just like a USB flash drive. You should be able to cancel out of that message and access the camera through your My Computer window.
